The magic behind the machine.
The CRAM™ platform is both hardware and software based, combining centralized security and data management with a physically secure device. The device’s operating system provides a secure environment on which products such as Venu may be built. The platform delivers a secure data repository, including application data and rich media, to the consumer. The consumer interacts with the data via the onboard product software or third party integrations. This innovation alone not only represents a complete shift in the technology paradigm, but one of CRAM’s five pending patents.
One of the core tenants of the CRAM platform is that the application communication and content delivery must be Internet independent. As much as we all like the Internet, it’s a security nightmare. Ultimately, the ubiquity of the Internet runs counter to security. The massive loss of private information due to hacks of Citigroup, Sony and the International Monetary Fund are just three recent examples. Content theft is a huge problem and it’s only getting worse as third world countries use the Internet as a weapon. What is your back up plan to the Internet when it becomes to unsecure to do business?
The CRAM platform implements a closed security and data delivery layer while opening its API to partners and third party developers. This allows approved partners to develop products that integrate with CRAM.
The CRAM platform also supplies a Software Developers Kit (SDK) to implement off-device software. This allows application and user authentication, object models, data services transactions, and rich media streaming/upload. The SDK will be implemented on a number of operating systems including Windows 7, Mac OS, iOS, Android and Linux.
In short, CRAM is an ideal platform for building products or systems that allow people to store, access and use virtually any kind of content, from HD movies to secret military documents. It’s the first content solution that gives you everything you want, when and where you want it.
Reality check: Costs of streaming are on the rise and they’re not coming down any time soon.
